When I enter the name and the unlock code it tells me Registration Unsuccessful. What do I do?

This article applies to both EmailMerge Standard and EmailMerge Pro.

We have found that Registration fails due to one of the following reasons.

1. Unlock Code is entered into the wrong version of the program (Our Standard and PRO versions are actually two different programs)
2. Incorrect name and/or unlock code being entered (the unlock code is case sensitive and sometimes users accidentally enter extra spaces at
the end)

More information is given below for each of the errors.

1. Unlock Code is entered into the wrong versions of the program.

This is the most common mistake. The PRO and standard versions of our software are actually different programs i.e. you need to make sure that you download and install the correct version.
Customers purchase Pro version of EmailMerge and try to register the standard version on their computer or vice versa.

If you are using EmailMerge Version 2 or EmailMerge Version 3:

Open Microsoft Outlook and go to your Inbox
Go to Tools menu -> select Standss
If you have the standard version, "EmailMerge 4Outlook" will be displayed.
If you have the Pro version, "EmailMerge PRO 4Outlook" will be displayed.

If there is an Addins4Outlook menu on the menu bar then:
Open Microsoft Outlook and go to your Inbox
Go to Addins4Outlook menu -> Click EmailMerge -> About EmailMerge.
The version will be displayed on the screen that appears.
If you have the standard version, "EmailMerge 4Outlook" will be displayed.
If you have the Pro version, "EmailMerge PRO 4Outlook" will be displayed.

If there is no Addins4Outlook menu on the menu bar then:
Go to Inbox -> Click Help Menu -> Click About EmailMerge.
The version will be displayed on the screen that appears.
If you have the standard version, "EmailMerge 4Outlook" will be displayed.
If you have the Pro version, "EmailMerge PRO 4Outlook" will be displayed.

If you have installed the incorrect software, uninstall the wrong software:

Register EmailMerge:

Click on the Register button on this screen. Enter the Registered Name and Unlock code exactly as you received and click OK.

You will now have a fully functional version of EmailMerge.

2. Incorrect name and/or unlock code being entered
Ensure that the name and unlock code is typed exactly as shown in your original e-mail. Pay particular attention to spaces and capital letters.

Also try to actually type it in instead of cutting and pasting. On some computers we have found that pasting adds some hidden characters.

Very occasionally the following may also create problems.

When typing in the numbers, don't use the number keypad off to the right of your keyboard, because they are sometimes interpreted as different characters and it will not be accepted, although it may look right to you.
